The Aquamarines Junior Team had a great start to the 2020 year at the Jr/Sr Championship meet, which was held in New Canaan CT March 6th-8th.


The Junior Team consisting of: J. Wang, T. Rutagengwa, F. Tian, I. Zoerb, E. Mason,

A. Taylor, S. Hill, and D. Lacourse, had fantastic Technical and Free Team Routine swims. By far their strongest yet. The girls came out strong and confident which played to their advantage. They ended up with a 9th place finish in the Team Routine Category.

The team also had a competitor in the Senior Solo Technical and Free events, J.Wang. Wang had started the weekend with a phenomenal Technical Routine Swim, securing a 3rd place medal for that competition for her. She did not let it stop there and continued with another strong swim the following day in the Senior Free Solo event and with scoring a 63.8333- secured 5th place for herself and qualified for the US Senior National Championship- being held in Mesa, Arizona march 27th-29th. This will be Wang's second year attending this National Competition and representing the Aquamarines.

The BGCN Aquamarines Age Group Team participated at their first meet of the season, the 13-15 AG & Jr/Sr Championships. The Jr team consisting of Jessie Wang, Tracy Rutagengwa, Jardine Allen, Isabelle Zoerb, Emma Mason and alternate Alise Kaplan placed 3rd in that event. Also in the Jr. category- Jessie Wang placed 5th in the Jr Solo competition. In the 13-15 Category Isabelle Zoerb and Emma Mason placed 3rd in the Duet event along with Tracy Rutagengwa placing 5th and Jardine Allen placing 6th in the 13-15 Jr Solo event. All swimmers had a fantastic first meet and are excited to attend their upcoming meets in February and March!
